Quick post…
Working on memorizing the facial structures in the hope that I can develop a strategy for organizing the work of drawing realistic faces. I am imagining a way of visualizing climbing up the face of Mount Rushmore. What angles and connections would you have to understand as you move up each face. I’ve always liked the definition of DiVincis portrait drawings. I particularly like the way he defines things like the edge of an eyelid. There’s a kind of languid softness about an eye drawn in a way that captures, relaxed, the peacefulness of the subject. You wonder if anyone could be that serene. Maybe!
