About Jaeson
Jaeson Tanner, a self-taught narrative and portrait artist living near Kingston Ontario, attended George Brown College in 1992 to study commercial art while continuing his personal exploration of fine art and music. Jaeson’s extended immediate family constantly inspires him with the personalities and adventures of his many nieces and nephews. While he has explored various topics, he always irresistibly returns to capturing the joy, innocence, and openness of childhood.
Jaeson’s narrative portraiture style is realistic and detailed, differentiating itself with the chosen subject matter. He believes that children’s well-being relies on play, discovery, and friendship, which he hopes to capture in his art. In an age of disconnection, video games, and canned entertainment, Jaeson feels it’s crucial to rediscover and celebrate the magic and wonder of these experiences for children of all ages.
