Sea-Monkey™ Update: As per instructions included with my Sea Monkeys Magic Castle™ it is 36 hours since I filled the “tank” with evian water™ mixed with the contents of the Pouch #1 Water Purifier. The “tank” has been set in a relatively innocuous location in front of a copy of Texas by James Michener on my bookshelf and I have added Pouch #2 Instant Live Eggs to the water. A more dangerous location on my bookshelf would be the one directly in front of my copy of “The Dictionary of Word Origins” where I routinely look up where dirty words come from to impress dinner guests.

The Instant Live Eggs of the “tank” have been carefully stirred with the Aqua-Leash (a funny little translucent poker that resembles a turkey-baster) until each tiny flake of new life has been dissolved into the pure evian™ goodness. The instructions assure me that at this moment I can begin to watch my new wards emerging from their tiny cocoons if I “use the magnifying lid to get a closer look”. Perhaps my aging eyes are not meant to pick up on the subtle dances of newborn sea-monkeys, because I can’t see them yet for the myriads of tiny champagne-like bubbles that seem to stick to everything in the “tank”. Soon, though, I am sure I will be able to see them racing about with their little monkey-lings in tow clutching sceptres, crowns and other props favoured by sea-monkeys.

My next big step is in 5 days when they will apparently require their first feeding. What a great pet! This is better than kitty! I’ll give you an update then. Stay tuned!
